Meaningful stories that I've written
As a Digital Journalist with a passion for storytelling, my favorite part of my job is sharing unique and compelling stories with readers. Throughout my time at WTAJ News, I have covered a wide range of topics, from breaking news to local sports stories. Some of my top-performing web articles have been those that focus on local people and highlight what they've done in the community. Each day I'm always striving to find new stories to tell to inform and connect with the community. Below are two categorizes to check out.
ABOUT ME
Aaron Marrie - Digital Content Producer
I'm currently a Digital Content Producer for WTAJ News in Altoona, Pennsylvania. I started at WTAJ in November 2021 and have loved every second of covering news in Central Pennsylvania. I've written hundreds of stories about crime, sports, restaurant openings, local events, fundraisers, and more, accumulating over millions of pageviews. I received my bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in May 2021 in converged journalism with a minor in film and media studies. I've also interned for 21-WFMJ in Youngstown, Ohio with the Sports Department from August 2020 through March 2021. During my internship, I attended multiple sporting events for coverage and work on their website. During my time at Slippery Rock, I held the Multimedia Editor position for The Rocket Newspaper, the school's student-run newspaper for two years. I was also a part of WSRU-TV, the universities television station, for all four years of college and held multiple positions including president and treasurer.
